Yes, all bookings must be made at least 24 hours in advance of departure and though our website.
Each Railbike is designed for a maximum number of passengers. A 4 seat Railbike carries up to 4 people. A 5 seat Railbike carries up to 5 people and so on. Each Railbike MUST have a minimum of one Lead Rider who must be over the age of 18 years, and one other rider over the age of 16 years, both of whom should have a moderate level of fitness.
There is ample parking on Station Road, right beside one of the Velorail entrance points which is clearly signposted.
Unfortunately, we are not in a position to carry pets on the Railbikes at this time for safety reasons.
There isn’t a specific minimum age limit for children but, to participate, all riders need to be able to be seated in their own seat, and strapped in using the fitted lapbelt.
It is not permitted to carry a child on an adults lap for any part of the journey.
The Velorail route is about 9 km in total.
The Velorail route takes about 1 hour and 15 minutes to complete.
Yes, you may change your booking date and / or Railbike type up to 24 hours before your departure time subject to availability.
Refunds are not normally payable unless we are required to cancel your booking for reasons outside of our control. However, we will edit / amend your booking up to 24 hours before your departure time subject to availability.
Unfortunately, we are not in a position to accept walking in customers. All bookings must be made online at https://www.velorail.ie/book-now Bookings may be made up to 2 hours before departure time subject to availability.
Yes, we have a small shop selling minerals, water, ice cream, chocolate and other sweets. It’s located at the Velorail Reception.
As Velorail is a physical activity, we require at least 2 adult riders on each Railbike and both must have a reasonable level of physical fitness. The effort required is similar to riding a normal bicycle. This is particularly important on the 5 and 2 seater Railbikes where only 2 people pedal.

Yes, we can arrange group bookings aside of the scheduled departures but we would require your group to be booking a minimum of 8 Railbikes to be able to do this.
